The Shakhtar Donetsk star has been linked with a big money move this month.
The report claims that Liverpool have not met the £35 million asking price for the player and that the Ukrainian side will not undersell the player, as they believed they did with Douglas Costa to Bayern Munich.
Shakhtar are also wary of the impact selling Teixeira could have on their title hopes, as they are currently neck-and-neck with Dynamo Kiev in the title run-in.
This would represent a huge blow for Liverpool but it would seem the player is still determined to make a deal happen.
He spoke to Anfield HQ today, stating:
"The team received one official offer from Liverpool. It was rejected. I don't know why.
"It was a great offer. It is frustrating. But the manager and club president decided against it.
"Yes, it (Liverpool) is a huge club. So many great players have passed through there. It would be an honour to defend the Liverpool shirt.
"No there's only been one offer, €32 million (£24.4 million) and Shakhtar rejected it. I know my agent is still attempting everything possible to help me get to Liverpool."
It certainly seems that Shakhtar are playing hardball on the matter and Liverpool may have to stump up the cash if they want the player.
But it would seem that the Ukrainians want their star player at the club until the end of the season - so Liverpool might need to wait until the summer before getting their man.
