Less than a season after quitting Middlesbrough to live his Premier League dream, Lee Tomlin is back in the Championship.
The 27-year-old signed for Bournemouth in the summer but has found himself on the fringes of the first team.
Tomlin had played only six Premier League games, three of which have been starts, with no goals or assists.
The recent additions of Benik Afobe, Lewis Grabban and Juan Iturbe only served to make his life harder to get games, and he has signed for Bristol City on loan until the end of the season, the Championship side confirmed on their website, being handed the number nine shirt.
Unlike his quest for promotion with Middlesbrough last season; a goal they continue to chase; he is now left fighting a relegation battle.
Tomlin in many ways can't be blamed for accepting the chance to go and play in the Premier League, but there is no denying this is not what he will have envisioned when he signed with the Cherries.
Middlesbrough fans have been poking fun at Tomlin on social media in light of the move...
