We've got to admit, we're pretty surprised by this!
We're almost certain that most footballers - especially in the Premier League - have pretty awful taste in music. I mean we've heard the story from Roy Keane about his Sunderland players allowing him to play Dancing Queen before a match...
However, it turns out that there is one man in the Premier League who actually has a pretty good ear for all things musical...Juan Mata. Yep, the diminutive Manchester United midfielder has revealed who some of his favourite bands are and we reckon you'll be in for a bit of a shock.
Speaking in an interview on Manchester United's official club website, Mata discussed his taste in music and it's surprisngly British, the Spaniard said: "I always liked groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks but I have discovered more since coming here.
"Sometimes Wayne puts some music on in the dressing room and I really like, for example, Stereophonics - I think Wayne knows them and they’re a great group. I also like Radiohead. I think this country is famous for having a lot of very, very good bands who are known all around the world. I am a fan of music and I am a fan of them."
Very interesting from Mata, we're more shocked that Louis van Gaal allows anyone to put anything on in the dressing room that isn't his beloved 'funky house' which Ashley Young revealed last year to be the Dutchman's genre of choice at work.
One thing we do know is Mata and co will need to listen to something inspirational before their game with Championship side Derby County to help put on a good performance to make amends for the lousy 1-0 defeat to Southampton last week.
