Leicester City appear to be closing in on a new young stopper.

According to a report from Danish website Bold, Leicester City are closing in on a deal to sign teenage goalkeeper Daniel Iversen from Esbjerg.

The Foxes are currently flying high in the Premier League and they have one of the best ‘keepers in the country in the form of Kasper Schmeichel. However that has seemingly not stopped them planning for the future, with 18-year-old Iversen reportedly heading to the King Power Stadium this month.

The Bold report claims Iversen is flying to England today to undergo a medical and sign a contract, with a transfer fee of between €1million and €2million having been agreed.

That equates to between £760,000 and £1.5million so there is a substantial difference depending on what the final figure will be. But given the player was voted as the best under-17 talent in Denmark in 2014 it could ultimately prove to be another savvy signing from Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri.

Iversen is a current Denmark under-19 international and he always looked likely to move on this month with his contract expiring in the summer.
