Southampton attacker Jay Rodriguez has provided a fitness update on Twitter, as he looks to step up his comeback from injury.
The 26-year-old has been out with a foot problem since October, but he has been working hard to get back to fitness.
And Rodriguez feels that he has made good progress, as he comes close to returning to training.
Rodriguez has had a terrible time with injuries in recent seasons, and he has missed a huge amount of action.
The former Burnley man appeared to have a bright future at both club and international level back in 2014, but he has barely played since damaging his knee ligaments.
Rodriguez missed the entirety of the 2014/15 season, and he has struggled to cope with the demands of playing regular football again since returning to action.
Rodriguez played 12 times for Southampton over the early part of the campaign, and scored three times, but he has not been seen since Ronald Koeman’s side’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City on the 17th October.
