We did wonder how long it would take for former Liverpool boss and football's David Brent aka Brendan Rodgers to start popping up on the TV and in our newspapers as he looks to bag himself another job in the game.
After his appearance on Goals on Sunday and on Monday night football, in which he claimed that Liverpool narrowly missed out on signing Dele Alli and that he never wanted to sign Mario Balotelli, he's back in the news once again.
This time, however, he's not really talking about his failings at Anfield (or blaming them on everyone but himself), it turns out that he's decided to speak out about his former rivals, Manchester United.
With Louis van Gaal having a bit of a torrid time at Old Trafford despite the club being fifth in the Premier League, it is looking increasingly likely that the Dutchman might not even last until the end of the season.
But who will replace him? Well, the front runners are Jose Mourinho and his current number two, Ryan Giggs. However, one man that has decided to come forward and rule himself out of the running is Brendan Rodgers...
Yep, we're not sure you have to rule yourself out of something we all know you were never in the running for but okay... In an interview with talkSPORT, Rodgers said: "I think when you manage Liverpool that Manchester United job is gone!"
Now, we're gonna guess he was having some top #bants, but as you can imagine, Man United fans took to Twitter and posted some pretty great stuff:
Brendan Rodgers has ruled himself out of managing Man United. In other news, I'd like to rule out the chances of me marrying Kate Upton.— Top Corner (@HITCtopcorner) January 27, 2016
Did any other than Brendan Rodgers ever seriously think #MUFC would ever dream of giving him a job? What a deluded prat.— Matthew Ryan (@MattiRaz) January 27, 2016
