Carragher reacts on Twitter to Liverpool semi-final win; addresses previous Arsenal comments

Jamie Carragher was happy for his former side Liverpool.

Liverpool are through to the Capital One Cup Final, after a nail biting semi-final win over Stoke City.

The Reds had a 1-0 advantage heading into the second leg at Anfield, but lost 1-0 on the night thanks to a controversial goal from Marko Arnautovic.

Liverpool won after a penalty shootout, with Joe Allen netting the winning spot kick.

Carragher sent a message out on Twitter after the victory, suggesting this was a very appropriate time for celebrations.

Carragher was of course referencing his previous comments criticising Arsenal players for celebrating by taking dressing room selfies after matches.

Speaking a year ago after the Gunners had beat Manchester City, he was quoted in The Mirror: "It's winding me up - it's an absolute joke."

"It was one giant going to another giant. Of course celebrate, but it’s nonsense all of these team pics in dressing rooms - normally you have them with a cup! It’s nonsense and they need to stop doing it."

Evidently he feels now is a good enough time to get excited.

Liverpool will find out in 24 hours who they will face at Wembley. It will be one of either Everton or Manchester City, with their Merseyside rivals having a slender advantage heading into the second leg at The Etihad.
