Bristol City are set to make a new improved bid for Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Bristol City have been chasing Dack for several weeks and saw their offer of £1 million turned by Gillingham earlier this month.
Dack has been in outstanding form for Gillingham this season, spearheading their bid for promotion from League One, scoring 14 goals and laying on eight assists.
The 22-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young talents outside the top two leagues and a host of clubs have been keeping tabs on his progress.
Bristol City have been leading the chase for Dack, but they could face competition for his signature from several of their Championship rivals before the transfer window shuts next week.
Gillingham are reluctant to lose Dack during this month's transfer window as they look to maintain their push for promotion to the Championship.
However, Bristol City are refusing to give up on their pursuit of former Charlton youngster Dack and are ready to test Gillingham's resolve to keep hold of Dack by making an improved bid for the creative midfielder.
