Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Dave Edwards has posted an update on social media after undergoing surgery on an injury today.
Edwards broke his toe during Wolves’ 1-1 draw against Queens Park Rangers last weekend.
The Welsh international is now expected to miss up to 12 weeks worth of action, according to the Express and Star, but his operation was a success.
Thankfully the surgery was a success Thanks for all the messages of support over last few days. pic.twitter.com/Z6ejbX3H5f— Dave Edwards (@_DaveEdwards) January 26, 2016
Edwards injury comes at the worst possible time for Wolves, with their squad currently ravaged by injury.
Kenny Jackett’s side will also have to be without Jordan Graham and Michal Zyro for the foreseeable future, with the pair both currently on the treatment table.
It leaves Wolves’ midfield and attacking options looking limited, and puts more pressure on the Midlands club to get business done before the close of the transfer window.
Wolves have been surprisingly quiet in the January transfer window so far, and they could be busy in the final few days of the month.
