Fulham have found themselves in a tricky spot considering the player is out of contract this summer and available to talk to potential suitors as of this month.
The West London club would prefer to sell him this month rather than risk losing him to a tribunal fee this coming summer, or worse for nothing if he opts to join a foreign club.
Both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Dembele this month, as reported by the London Evening Standard, with a transfer fee of £6 million mooted.
The London Evening Standard have talked up Spurs’ interest quite extensively, hinting that a deal similar to the one which saw Dele Alli join the club from MK Dons last January was a real possibility.
However, the 19-year-old is now said to be heading to Monaco in a surprise switch, and one which could turn out quite regrettable for Mauricio Pochettino’s side should it transpire.
Dembele joined Fulham in 2012 and has made 22 Championship starts this term, scoring nine goals.
