Burnley continued their recent good run of form with a 4-1 victory over Derby County at home in the Championship.
Barton, who joined the Clarets in the summer of 2015 after leaving Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season, started the match at Turf Moor and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Sinclair, who played with the former Newcastle United midfielder at Manchester City, was impressed with the performance of the 33-year-old.
Against Derby, Barton had a pass accuracy of 71%, created one chance, won 25% of his tackles, and made two interceptions, one clearance and two blocks.
Burnley are third in the Championship table at the moment with 51 points from 28 matches. Sean Dyche’s side are just four points behind second-placed Middlesbrough, who have a game in hand, and five behind leaders Hull City.
