Stephane Sessegnon has forced his way back into West Bromwich Albion’s starting line-up this season.

Tony Pulis has labelled Stephane Sessegnon as West Bromwich Albion’s shining light in the Birmingham Mail.

Sessegnon started the season out of favour at The Hawthorns, but he has forced his way into the starting line-up more recently.

The attacking midfielder has been the Baggies’ main source of creativity, but Pulis admits that the former Sunderland man did not reach the top of his game in his most recent outing against Aston Villa.

"I said to them after [the Villa match] I was really pleased with them because we weren't at our best and we never lost," Pulis said.  "But I don't think there was a spark.

"Sesssegnon even, whose played exceptionally well for us and been a shining light for us. Our front players, we need a little bit more off them and going forward we didn't get tha

West Brom drew 0-0 with Villa last Saturday, in what was a drab contest at the Hawthorns.

The two sides largely cancelled each other out, and Albion ended up failing to register a shot on target over the course of the 90 minutes.

West Brom have struggled going forward all season, but they still have a healthy advantage over the bottom three.

Pulis’s side are currently seven points clear of the drop zone, and they appear to be a strong position to retain their Premier League status although there is plenty of football still to be played and they will not be taking anything for granted.
