Former Nottingham Forest striker Stan Collymore explained on the Call Collymore show on talkSPORT on Saturday evening (January 23) how West Ham United star Dimitri Payet is different from other players.
“The difference between many players we have seen on Premier League football pitches that can do a Cruyff turn, that can do the little roundabout, that can do the little showboating is that it doesn’t end with anything tangible,” said Collymore when explaining the difference between Payet and other players.
Collymore made the comments following West Ham’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Boleyn Ground in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Payet started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes, and he was once again superb for the Hammers. The France international attacking midfielder took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 82%, created one chance, put in nine crosses, attempted nine dribbles, and made one block.
The 28-year-old has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season. In 16 league games so far this campaign, the former Marseille star has scored six goals, created 55 chances, has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 67%, and has won one header, 39 dribbles and 11 tackles.
