West Ham United are keen to sign a striker in the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United would rather bring in Emmanuel Emenike on loan than Burak Yilmaz.

West Ham have been linked with the two strikers, and they apparently hold an interest in both.

However, Slaven Bilic has seemingly identified Emenike as his preferred choice, with Yilmaz simply a back-up option.

West Ham are hoping to sign Emenike on loan from Fenerbahçe, as they look to increase their striking options.

With Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho both injured, the Hammers are looking for a short term option, to help them consolidate their lofty position in the Premier League.

West Ham are currently occupying sixth place in England’s top flight, and they are eager to claim a European spot.

Emenike has scored nine goals in 15 matches this season, while on a loan spell with Al Ain.
