Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Romain Thomas of Angers.
Crystal Palace have not yet submitted a formal bid for Romain Thomas, the Guardian reports.
Telefoot claimed earlier this month that Thomas was a target for Palace, as well as West Brom and Stoke City.
He has been a central part of the Angers team this season, with the newly promoted club surprising all by pushing into the upper reaches of the Ligue 1 table.
Their form has slightly dropped off in recent weeks, but the 27-year-old’s form has been earning rave reviews.
He has started all but one league game, netting twice, and marshalling a strong defence extremely well.
It is no surprise that teams have started scouting him, but the Guardian report claims that Palace - who have the keenest interest in Thomas - have not yet submitted an offer for him.
Palace’s main aim before the end of the transfer window is to sign a new striker, with their current options failing in the final third, but a central defender also seems to be high on Alan Pardew’s list of priorities.
However, Thomas is not yet the subject of a bid, and it remains to be seen whether Palace formalise their interest in the centre-back before the end of January.
