Rangers picked up all three points from the Scottish Championship encounter at Cappielow Park courtesy of a 2-0 victory.
Kenny Miller took advantage of a deflection in the box to poke the Glasgow giants in front in the 26th minute. Barrie McKay played a neat one-two before doubling the lead on 70 minutes.
Rangers ended the game with 10 men, though, as Andy Halliday was shown a second yellow card for celebrating his side's second goal in front of the Morton fans.
Former Rangers attacker Lovenkrands was following the match, and he was pleased with the three points.
