Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has said he is feeling positive.

Jan Vertonghen says he is feeling positive about his recovery from injury.

The Belgian is facing a spell on the sidelines after sustaining medial collateral ligament damage to his knee during Tottenham's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.

The Evening Standard reported that Vertonghen will be out of action for two months with the MCL injury after Spurs confirmed the news this morning.

The centre-back sent a message on Twitter thanking fans for their messages of support.

Vertonghen is currently with the Tottenham side on their trip to Spain, and has been a key part of the team's success this season.

Tottenham have the best defensive record in the league, and currently sit in fourth position.

The blow could rule him out of the North London derby at White Hart Lane on March 5, but there are key fixtures in April against Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United which he will hope to recover for.
