Evans was left stunned when his striker snubbed Cellino's Leeds, should he now make move?

Should Leeds United go back in for Kieran Agard?

Could the solution to Leeds United's strike woes lie with a player they tried to sign unsuccessfully in the summer of 2014?

The Whites were negotiating with Rotherham United at the time for Kieran Agard, and came close to getting their man.

Agard had told Rotherham he wanted a new challenge, and Evans obliged after both Leeds and Bristol City met their asking price, telling SkySports he did not want to keep a player who did not want to be at the club.

They parted amicably, but Evans admitted he was dumbfounded that Agard ultimately decided to move to Bristol City instead.

He said at the time: "I'm surprised. Wow. In terms of Leeds United, when you drop a division and go to Bristol City instead, and this is no disrespect to Bristol City, I'm surprised.

"They have a great owner, great supporters and are a fantastic club at League One level.

"I just find it surprising you would turn down a household, worldwide name like Leeds United and go to Bristol City. I'm surprised he would turn down a club like Leeds with their profile and fan base and historical values.

"You could go to Africa and says 'Leeds' and people would know Leeds United."

18 months on...

Fast forward to now and a lot has changed. Evans is the head coach of Leeds United, and Agard helped fire the Robins to promotion.

Yet after netting 14 goals last season, he has been used sparingly this campaign, making only six starts - scoring three times.

Capable of playing out wide and up front, Agard is a dangerous player who would fit into Leeds' system, and already knows Evans well.

He netted in the FA Cup against West Brom earlier this month in a seven minute cameo, and has barely had a look in since the turn of the year despite Bristol City struggling for form.

Agard has played only 25 minutes of football in 2016, and HITC reported yesterday that a trio of clubs, Celtic, Fulham, and Wigan, have all made enquiries over his services.

If there is any possibility of a loan or permanent switch, Agard could yet become an option for Leeds United if they finally want to get their man.
