Danny Welbeck is closing on a return for Arsenal, report The Mirror.
The striker has been out of action all season and also missed the FA Cup Final in May, but the club are hoping this week will be a big one for him.
There remains no date set for a first team return, but it is not out of the question that if there are no setbacks, he could return to availability in mid-February.
This would be a key date, with Arsenal's Champions League first leg against Barcelona taking place late in the month.
Arsenal's lack of options up front were exposed at the weekend against Chelsea, failing to score against the Blues for a third successive Premier League game.
Having Welbeck back will be a considerable boost, and England boss Roy Hodgson will also be watching on with interest too.
