Michy Batshuai remains a big fan of former teammate Dmitri Payet.
Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi has been named as a priority transfer target for West Ham by The Sun.
The report claimed Batshuayi is valued at £20 million, and the Hammers want to tie up a deal by the end of the season, even if the French side do not want to entertain selling him this month.
Batshuayi is well aware of West Ham, and was even watching them at the weekend.
He sent a message on Twitter during the Hammers' clash with Manchester City, raving about Dmitri Payet.
Payet played alongside Batshuayi at Marseille last season, and so he knows the Frenchman personally.
The fact he was so vocal about his former teammates skill and impact at the weekend will make it a lot easier for West Ham to sell the club to him during transfer negotiations.
Batshuayi has netted 15 goals already this season, and is likely to be part of the Belgian squad at Euro 2016, competing with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke for a spot.
