Sergio Aguero responds to West Ham's Carlos Tevez jibes the only way he knows how

Sergio Ag├╝ero: By The Numbers: Sergio Aguero 2015-16: 20151003

Manchester City's Argentine superstar Sergio Aguero responded to jibes from West Ham United fans the only way he knew how during their 2-2 draw.

The Hammers and City were involved in a pulsating match on Saturday night with Manuel Pellegrini's side twice coming from behind to peg back their hosts at Upton Park.

Enner Valencia's brace had put Slaven Bilic's side ahead twice in the match as the Hammers looked set to do the double over the title challengers.

The game was set against the backdrop of the famous atmosphere under the lights at the Boleyn Ground.

Hammers fans were in good voice and at their witty best.

Tevez jibe backfires

But one chant aimed at Aguero and inspired by former West Ham and Manchester City hero Carlos Tevez backfired somewhat.

Hammers fans relentlessly goaded Aguero throughout with chants of 'You're just a s**t Carlos Tevez'.

Unfortunately for them the in-form Argentina international and former teammate of Tevez showed he was anything but.

The deadly striker was a menace throughout and carried City for much of the game.

It was he who won and converted a penalty to make it 1-1 after nine minutes and then he pounced to level the scores again with 10 minutes left.

While West Ham were unlucky not to come away with a win, in truth Aguero could easily have had a hat-trick but his superb lob over Hammers 'keeper Adrian hit the post and stayed out.

A West Ham and City hero

Tevez will forever be fondly remembered in East London for the magnificent role he played in helping the club to pull off their 'Great Escape back in 2007.

His passion, desire, goals and assists helped the Hammers win seven of their last nine games that season, including a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on the last day of the season with Tevez getting the all-important goal.

He is also fondly remembered by City fans after leaving bitter rivals Manchester United for the Etihad and scoring 58 goals in 113 games for the Blues.

Aguero and Tevez played together at Upton Park for Argentina against Croatia back in November 2014.

And it is hoped that won't be the last time Tevez plays at Upton Park, with a chance he could feature in captain Mark Noble's testimonial in March.
