Richard Keys says Levy must be thankful United nicked LvG from under his nose

The presenter has been discussing Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Richard Keys says Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy must wake up every morning and be thankful Manchester United 'nicked' Louis van Gaal from under his nose, according to his personal blog.

Indeed, Spurs are currently thriving under Mauricio Pochettino, while United toil under Van Gaal.

And Keys wrote: "The [Dele Alli] goal probably overshadowed another very powerful Spurs performance. Make no mistake, Pochettino has created a title challenging team at White Hart Lane. Daniel Levy must wake up every morning and thank God that United nicked LVG from under his nose!"

Clearly, Pochettino is doing a better job than Van Gaal. Even if the Argentine was a couple of places lower than Manchester United in a normal season, it might be considered a success.

Right now, though, Tottenham are comfortably above United, despite the fact targets at Old Trafford would traditionally be higher than at White Hart Lane.

A Van Gaal exit looks on the cards at Manchester United and the Dutchman could do the respectable thing and resign. Doing a job badly towards the end of your career is no crime. But denying it and continuing to take a huge salary while millions of fans remain unhappy is little less admirable...
