Report: QPR's Rob Green still wants Crystal Palace transfer despite proposed deal failing

Queens Park Ranges goalkeeper Rob Green is reportedly still keen on a move to Crystal Palace.

According to The Times, Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Robert Green still wants to join Crystal Palace - despite a move falling apart earlier this month.

Palace have yet to make any headlines during the January transfer window, but the R's have seen star striker Charlie Austin leave the club for Southampton.

New manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has spent his money on Peterborough striker Conor Washington, whilst he also snapped up goalkeeper Matt Ingram from Wycombe.

Ingram's arrival has cast doubt on the future of fellow shot stopper Robert Green, who has just one year left on his contract at Loftus Road.

Now, The Times report that Green still wants to join Crystal Palace, despite a deal between the two clubs falling through earlier in the January transfer window.

The report states that the initial move would involve Palace goalkeeper Alex McCarthy returning to former club QPR on loan, but he had no interest in that move.

Palace boss Alan Pardew has seen first choice goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey commit a number of mistakes recently, with McCarthy seemingly unlikely to start and veteran Julian Speroni seen as little more than cover, hence his interest in Green.

With the former England international potentially third choice at Loftus Road, he may still get his move to Palace - but it may need the Eagles to part with a goalkeeper first.
