Report claims Premier League leaders Leicester have joined Crystal Palace and Newcastle in race for Loic Remy

Remy is hoping to leave Chelsea this week with the Blues set to complete a deal to sign Alexandre Pato.

Premier League leaders Leicester City have reportedly joined Newcastle and Crystal Palace in the race to sign Chelsea striker Loic Remy, according to the Daily Mail.

The Frenchman is hoping to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the month due to a lack of game-time (via Mail). And with the Mail reporting that the Blues are set to complete a loan deal for Brazilian Alexandre Pato, it appears that his chances of holding down a place in Guus Hiddink's side are set to become even slimmer.

But it appears that he will not be short of offers this month, with the Foxes becoming the latest side to reportedly consider making a move for the 29-year-old.

When he has been given a chance, Remy has been largely impressive since he moved to the Premier League. His record of eight goals in 29 top flight games for Chelsea may not look great, but it must be remembered that he has started just seven of those games.

His loan spell at St James' Park - where he scored 14 goals in 26 league appearances - perhaps provides a better indication of what the former Marseille man is capable of.

And should Leicester complete a deal to sign Remy, Claudio Ranieri will be hoping that the striker's season ends the same way it ended last year: with him lifting the Premier League trophy.
