Report: Chelsea will loan Palace Loic Remy... on one condition

Silva, Remy, Ramires, Zouma, Fernando - Chelsea v Man City

Crystal Palace could have signed the Frenchman in the summer but opted for another Chelsea striker instead.

Chelsea will loan Loic Remy to Crystal Palace if they sign Alexandre Pato, according to the Daily Mirror.

Indeed, Remy reportedly wants a loan move away from Stamford Bridge and several suitors have been mentioned.

And the Mirror suggest the Eagles have been interested in the 29-year-old for a long time - with the Blues now more willing to allow him to move to Selhurst Park due to developments in the Pato deal.

Neither Guus Hiddink nor Jose Mourinho have favoured Remy when it comes to team selection and a loan may therefore make perfect sense.

The interesting thing about a potential Remy switch to Palace, of course, is the fact it's a deal that could have happened in summer.

Chelsea were reluctant to let the Frenchman leave, of course, but might have thought differently had they kept Patrick Bamford.

Bamford joined Crystal Palace on loan but soon had his loan deal terminated after a lack of playing time.

Palace are desperately short of goals now - is Remy the answer or will his lack of game time and regular match fitness hold him back?
