Graeme Souness raves about Tottenham Hotspur's squad

Tottenham Hotspur are only five points behind leaders Leicester.

Graeme Souness has told Sky Sports that he believes Tottenham Hotspur have a chance of winning the title this season - providing that they keep Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane fit.

Souness feels that Spurs have a great balance throughout their squad, and he has praised the amount of options that they have in midfield.

The former Newcastle United boss has also been pleased to see the Lilywhites’ new found resilient edge.

"They've got a great goalkeeper in Hugo Lloris,” Souness said. “If they keep Harry Kane and the goalkeeper fit they have an abundance of midfield players and can shuffle the pack.

"Their two centre-backs are strong and they have a nice mix. The Tottenham of the past would get rolled over. In my time as a professional footballer, Tottenham were never known as a team that was resilient and could come back after a heavy defeat or a real disappointment.

"This team lost to Newcastle, but brushed it off and went again.”

Tottenham are currently just five points behind top of the table Leicester City.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have consistently proven very difficult to beat, and they have only lost three matches all season.

Spurs have shown great ability going forward, while they also have a better defensive record than any other team in England’s top flight.

Pochettino’s men won their latest fixture 3-1 against Crystal Palace, with their next two league outings coming against Norwich City and Watford.
