Everton fans give clear verdict on Roberto Martinez's future, some predict relegation

Roberto Martinez

Everton fans believe it's time for Roberto Martinez to go after losing to Swansea City.

Everton's struggles continued on Sunday afternoon as they fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to relegation-threatened Swansea City.

The Toffees have been underachieving so far this season, and that was evident yet again as they fell behind to a Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty after some comical defending.

Everton hit back with a Gareth Barry equaliser, but ultimately fell to defeat at Goodison Park after Andre Ayew hit the winner for the Swans.

The result leaves Everton down in 12th place in the Premier League table, eight points clear of the relegation zone and 13 points adrift of the top four.

Those aren't numbers that Everton fans were expecting at the start of the season, and supporters are now laying the blame at manager Martinez's door.

Fans took to Twitter after the final whistle to state that Martinez must be sacked immediately, though others felt that if Everton lose in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final against Manchester City later this week, then the Spaniard should go.

Some are even concerned that Martinez could oversee a relegation for Everton, much like he did with Wigan Athletic back in 2013, just months before moving to Everton.

Here are some of the reactions from Everton fans after the game against Swansea, with many calling for Martinez to go...
