Dagenham and Redbridge are interested in bringing in former Colchester United attacker Freddie Ladapo.
Dagenham and Redbridge are to make a move to sign exciting non-league striker Freddie Ladapo, HITC sources understand.
Ladapo plays for Margate, and has previously played for Colchester United and Kidderminster.
He signed for Margate last January and scored 22 goals in the calendar year of 2015.
Prior to that the Romford born striker scored 17 goals in 26 games for Grays Athletic during a loan spell.
The 22-year-old has continued his excellent form into the new year, helping Margate to a victory away at Ebbsfleet United at the weekend.
Ladapo created one goal and scored another as Margate won 2-1, and that performance has helped convince Dagenham and Redbridge to make a move.
The club are currently in the League Two relegation zone, 23rd out of 24 teams, and drew 2-2 with Newport County at the weekend. Adding a game changing striker like Ladapo could help their survival chances.
