The recent signing from Leeds United made his Premier League debut yesterday.
West Ham United took on Manchester City yesterday and in the end were unlucky to come away from the tie with just a 2-2 draw from the game.
A brace from Enner Valencia looked for a long time like winning the game for The Hammers but Sergio Aguero scored in the 81st minute to double his and City's tally for the game.
It was also a big day for Sam Byram.
The young right-back joined West Ham earlier in the week from his boyhood club Leeds United. His contract at Elland Road was coming to its end and the Yorkshire side decided to flog him instead of losing him on a free transfer in the summer.
It was not known if he would be making an immediate appearance in the first-team but he did, coming on for an injured Carl Jenkinson in the 13th minute.
He put in an excellent performance at full-back, although did pick up a yellow card in the second half.
Byram was clearly pleased to have made his West Ham debut and sent out this tweet after the game.
1/2 Wow, what an experience. Words can't explain how it feels to have made my premier league debut. pic.twitter.com/yfwiQn6M6R— Sam byram (@sambyram93) January 23, 2016
2/2 And a massive Thank You to all the west ham fans for making me feel so welcome. really appreciate it— Sam byram (@sambyram93) January 23, 2016
Plenty of other West Ham players also tweeted after the game, including two-goal hero Valencia.
