The Mathieu Flamini image that sums up Arsenal’s frustration

Arsenal lost to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Arsenal failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday evening, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to London rivals Chelsea at home.

The Gunners headed into the game at the Emirates Stadium on the back of a goalless draw with Stoke City away from home at the Britannia Stadium.

It was always going to be a tough match, and in the end Arsene Wenger’s side had to endure a 1-0 loss.

Diego Costa’s goal in the 23rd minute proved to be the difference between the two London sides at the Emirates.

Arsenal played most of the match with 10 men due to the dismissal of defender Per Mertesacker in the 18th minute.

One of the Arsenal players who struggled against Chelsea was Mathieu Flamini, who started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes.

The French midfielder took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 78%, attempted two dribbles, did not win any of his tackles, and made two interceptions and two blocks.

The above image of a frustrated Flamini sums up the current mood in the Arsenal camp.

Arsene Wenger’s side are now third in the league table with 44 points from 23 matches, just three points behind leaders Leicester City.
