Sunderland and Newcastle fans react on Twitter to Andre Ayew's match-winning performance

The Swansea forward won a penalty and scored the winner against Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Swansea and Everton fans weren't the only ones watching on as Andre Ayew settled Sunday afternoon's Premier League tie at Goodison Park.

Indeed, the 26-year-old won a penalty and scored Swansea's second as Everton's poor run was extended to only one win in 10 games.

But it wasn't just the Swans left impressed, with Sunderland fans raving about Ayew's performance. And not just them either... Newcastle United supporters watched on with intrigue, too.

Sunderland supporters would very much like the forward on board at the Stadium of Light to help with their battle against relegation. Right now, it looks like they need Ayew more than Swansea do.

Newcastle fans, however, had other things to say. They were more interested in the fact their chief scout watched Marseille last season and, instead of signing Ayew or Dimitri Payet, brought Florian Thauvin to the Magpies...

Some of the Newcastle faithful also wouldn't mind righting that wrong this January and signing the Swansea forward - thereby gazumping Sunderland. For now, though, it's Swansea supporters who are enjoying his match-winning performances, while Evertan fans rue this particular one...
