The Frenchman is not currently considering a move away from the club.
The French international has all the attributes to thrive in England and he has shown that time and time again in a black-and-white shirt.
Of course that type of consistent form has not gone unnoticed. He has often been linked with moves away from St James' Park - with Napoli the latest rumour doing the rounds.
However the 26-year-old has confirmed that he is going absolutely nowhere this month.
Speaking to Telefoot in his homeland he explained why he will be sticking around on the North-East for the time being.
“I am not thinking about leaving Newcastle. They will not let me go.
"And then I ask myself the question about the timing, just a few months ahead of the Euros.
"Certainly, our results have been bad but I get to play every weekend and to perform well.”
Sissoko is right to suggest leaving Newcastle would be a mistake at this time. Competition for places in the French national team is rife at the moment and he will not want to jeopardise his current position with Les Bleus so near to a home tournament.
For now he will be staying put and for Newcastle fans that is great news - as he will be vital in their fight for Premier League survival.
