Micky Hazard reacts on Twitter to Alan Pardew's post-match comments

Alan Pardew

The former Tottenham man has been left surprised by the Crystal Palace boss's quotes.

Tottenham Hotspur icon Micky Hazard wanted Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew to 'be honest' after the north London side's 3-1 win at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

Indeed, Palace led Tottenham 1-0 but ended up losing by two clear goals on Saturday, with Hazard insistent that his former club dominated throughout.

It's not unlike Pardew to put his own spin on things, of course, and Palace fans have perhaps become used to him being a sore loser.

Meanwhile, Hazard also praised the Spurs side and their fans for a 'different class' display in south London.

Tottenham are now five points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United thanks to their third win out of three in all competitions.

Next up for Spurs is an FA Cup trip to Colchester United, before they travel to Norwich City in the Premier League.

This weekend could be looked back on as a pivotal moment in the race for a top-four finish. United are clearly struggling, although Southampton are returning to the fold and West Ham and Liverpool are still in the running.

But are Tottenham just too far clear of them all now, having built up a head of steam?
