Edwin van der Sar reacts on Twitter to Ben Foster's Baggies return

The West Brom goalkeeper kept a clean sheet against Aston Villa.

Going forward, West Brom fans were left with very little to cheer against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

It was a classic Tony Pulis performance - devoid of any ambition of creativity in the final third.

But there was great news for West Brom supporters at the other end of the pitch, as Ben Foster returned to action from a long injury lay-off and kept a clean sheet against Aston Villa.

And reacting to Foster's return for the Baggies was no less than former Manchester United and Fulham goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.

Both the Dutchman and Foster have played at Manchester United, of course, and Van der Sar was delighted for the 32-year-old.

West Brom fans still want plenty more transfer activity before the end of the January window - and rightly so.

But, in the goalkeeping department, the Baggies look very well set indeed. Boaz Myhill and Foster are both very good Premier League shot stoppers... at least that's one less thing to worry about at the Hawthorns.
