Celtic beat St. Johnstone 3-1 at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon.

Celtic made it three league victories in eight days after convincingly beating St. Johnstone 3-1 at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Bhoys, who beat Dundee United 4-1 and Hamilton 8-1 before facing St. Johnstone, coasted to another victory this weekend thanks to Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong.

The Scottish duo, who joined Celtic from Dundee United almost a year ago, hit a goal each in the first half to give Celtic a 2-1 lead at the break, before Mackay-Steven swooped to add another goal in the second half.

Both players have come in for criticism this season, as Mackay-Steven has struggled to recreate the form he showed in the second half of last season, whilst Armstrong has blown hot and cold whenever he's been given the chance to impress this term.

However, the duo impressed not only against Hamilton but also in the win over St. Johnstone, and their displays have given fans hope of an extended run of form.

Supporters took to Twitter after the game against St. Johnstone to praise both players, suggesting that they are coming back to form right now.

Others even suggested that the way to get the best out of both players is to play them in the same team, given their understanding from their time together at Dundee United.
