Over the course of the 90 minutes at The Hawthorns, hosts West Brom had just 39% of the possession, took four shots of which none was on target, and earned two corners.
Visitors Villa had 61% of the possession, took 15 shots of which four were on target, and earned six corners.
The Baggies are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 28 points from 23 matches, seven points above the relegation zone.
West Brom will return to action next weekend when they take on Peterborough United at The Hawthorns in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
