Arsenal missed the chance to go back to the top of the table as they lost to Chelsea on Sunday.
Arsenal lost 1-0 to Chelsea this weekend with Spanish international Diego Costa scoring the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute.
Things were already looking bad for the Gunners when centre-back Per Mertesacker was sent off less than 18 minutes into the encounter and Costa quickly made the hosts pay.
That goal was enough to give Chelsea all three points and maintain the Blues' impressive recent record against Arsenal, and while many of the Gunners’ players under-performed their midfield was simply not good enough on the day.
Aaron Ramsey and Matthieu Flamini could not do enough against the reigning Premier League champions and it was interesting to note that January signing Mohamed Elneny had to sit and watch this match from the bench.
Surely the Egyptian international will soon be starting matches like this, with Flamini no longer the answer in the absence of the injured Francis Coquelin.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Arsenal fans thought of Flamini’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
When Flamini is on it just screws everything up. Wenger thinks it's 2003 again.— Sherrygooner (@Sherrymon) January 24, 2016
Wenger should be sacked for letting flamini play 90 mins but he runs the club so he wont be— jeff (@math4FC) January 24, 2016
Flamini has been awful but is anyone surprised we all know he shouldn't even be at arsenal #AFC— Samuel Uzo. (@SamuelUzo92) January 24, 2016

You know we're playing rubbish when our two best chances fall to Flamini.— Russ Wells (@RussWells_) January 24, 2016
Flamini plays the whole game with Elneny on the bench. Why did we even buy him?— Yared (@Yared_TheGuy) January 24, 2016
I hope elneny is good because I can't stand watching flamini anymore— Miss Pearson Specter (@imisaaay) January 24, 2016
