Watford summer signing Victor Ibarbo completes surprise move back to Colombia

The Colombian international has flopped at Vicarage Road.

In the summer Watford and FIFA fans got very excited when The Hornets announced the loan signing of lightning fast attacker Victor Ibarbo.

The cult icon arrived on loan from Cagliari after a previously unsuccessful stint with Roma.

Anticipation was high but the Colombian has struggled at Watford.

He played just four times for Watford during his time at the club and did not score a single goal, in a genuinely unimpressive stint at Vicarage Road.

Now his time at the club is up as he has headed back to Colombia. Atletico Nacional have announded this week that they have brought Ibarbo in on loan for the rest of the season.

Ibarbo himself spoke about the move this week - telling Futbol Red:

"No anxiety, I think we can win everything because Nacional can not put a limit. We have several championships and we will get them.

"I'm not a big name, I am one. I want to give back to this great team and these great men.

"This is a club that has nothing to envy to those of Europe and I am very happy for that."

Ibarbo started his career at Nacional, spending three years as a pro with the club - scoring seven times in 107 appearances.

It is his pace and power that have always made him a popular figure but he did not seem to have the nous for plying his trade with Watford in the English game.

Hopefully he can find his form back in home comforts.
