It was inevitable, wasn't it?
While it was great news for Southampton, Marsh sees it as the worst piece of business in 20 years for QPR.
Charlie Austin £4mill ? like I said worst piece of business in 20 years #qpr— Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) January 23, 2016
Some supporters, meanwhile, are similarly sceptical that Austin was injured while at Loftus Road but suddenly found fitness soon after joining the Saints.
But most of the R's faithful simply seemed delighted for their former striker. It's not every day you score the winner at Old Trafford and plenty of QPR fans loved the occasion. Needless to say, one or two Southampton fans might have been jumping for joy, too...
Here's how the QPR supporters reacted on Twitter to Austin's inevitable winner for the South Coast club...
Austin being fit this weekend and scoring on his Southampton debut was more or less inevitable. Worth every penny of the measly fee. #QPR— Chris King (@chriskking) January 23, 2016
Absolutely amazed that a top 6 club didn't come in for Austin - think a few will be regretting it. #QPR— Adam Margolis (@Adammargolis) January 23, 2016
