The Welsh international could be available on the cheap this month.
A report in the Metro yesterday claims that three Premier League clubs - Newcastle United, Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion - are all keen on signing the Wales and Reading right-back Chris Gunter this month.
Gunter, who is likely to head to Euro 2016 with Wales in the summer, is in the final six months of his contract at the Berkshire club and the Royals could be tempted to sell him on - as they did with Nick Blackman earlier in the window.
The report claims that Newcastle, Norwich or West Brom could get hold of the player for just £500,000.
Newcastle would like cover at full-back and Gunter is capable of playing on both sides of the defence. Norwich are looking to strengthen their squad when they can as they look to stave off relegation this term. Meanwhile West Brom have been getting through this season without any real recognised full-backs in contention - so Gunter would be a welcome addition by fellow Welshman Tony Pulis.
Gunter has 64-caps for Wales and has previously played with Cardiff City, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.
