The talented stopper has impressed in the Football League.
Much has been made about the goalkeeping situation at Liverpool this season. Simon Mignolet, despite recently receiving a new contract, has been inconsistent again. Meanwhile back-up goalie Adam Bogdan has looked far from being an able deputy.
That has led to plenty of names being linked with a switch to Liverpool to beef up the goalie department.
Now a League One chairman has suggested a potential option for Liverpool.
Peterbrough United chief Darragh MacAnthony is never one to mince his words and he feels that Liverpool would do well to take a punt on Southend United goalkeeper Daniel Bentley for their future goalkeeping needs. He tweeted this week:
If some had sense yes. Id like Liverpool to buy him then loan him back to Southend for good period of time. https://t.co/9LDFr45yH8— Darragh MacAnthony (@DMAC102) January 21, 2016
He makes a very good point. Bentley has been one of the Football League's most impressive performers for the past couple of seasons and looks more than capable of making it to the top of the English game.
He is a solid and dependable English talent who is already a club hero at Roots Hall.
He may not be high profile but Liverpool have to be looking at such unearthed talent as he could be a real gem.
