The Tottenham head coach has been discussing the club's 19-year-old starlet.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino admits Dele Alli has 'surprised everyone' with how quickly he has developed at White Hart Lane, according to Sky Sports.

Indeed, the teenager once again belied his years with a superb strike against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

And, even though Pochettino thought Tottenham had signed a player with 'unbelievable potential' beforehand, he didn't quite expect this...

The Argentine is quoted as saying: "You expect players you sign to be able, professional and good quality, but I cannot lie... I think he has surprised everyone with the way he has played and his maturity.

"We knew he was a player with unbelievable potential but I think today he showed unbelievable quality and maturity, it is great to see him play and keep his feet on the ground as well."

Where next for Spurs after their third win in a row in all competitions?

Tottenham remain in the top four and, after Manchester City's draw with West Ham, are just two points off Manuel Pellegrini's men.

Guus Hiddink can do the north London side a favour on Sunday and beat Arsenal, which would also leave Tottenham two points behind their bitter rivals.

Leicester City lead the way - five points clear of Spurs - but it's a healthy-looking picture indeed. Especially after Manchester United's loss to Southampton leaves them five points behind Pochettino's men.
