The Reading and Wales defender is in the final six months of his contract at the Madejski Stadium.
A report in the Metro yesterday claimed that three Premier League clubs - Newcastle United, Norwich City andWest Bromwich Albion - are all keen on signing the Wales and Reading right-back Chris Gunter this month.
Gunter, who is likely to head to Euro 2016 with Wales in the summer, is in the final six months of his contract at the Berkshire club and the Royals could be tempted to sell him on - as they did with Nick Blackman earlier in the window.
The report claims that the Premier League trio could get hold of the player for as little as £500,000.
So should Everton join the party?
The Toffees recently missed out on Sam Byram as the Leeds product headed to West Ham but desperately need adequate cover at right-back for Irish star Seamus Coleman.
Whilst Gunter is never going to be a world beater he has played against some of the top wingers in Europe during his 64-cap career with the Welsh national team and done so with aplomb.
He would be a cost effective and solid signature to cover a long-term problem position at Everton. Surely he is worth a look?
