West Ham United are aiming to make a splash this summer.
Writing in her regular column, Brady paid tribute to David Sullivan following his fantastic work at the club and admits the shrewd owner plans to make a big statement this summer.
“On behalf of my board and staff, I would like to pay tribute to our chairman David Sullivan. He leads and inspires us and provides expert oversight of our transfer dealings,” Brady said.
“Dimitri Payet, for instance, had long been a player David admired. So, when Slaven Bilic cited him as his No.1 target, David secured his signature within 48 hours.
“Just this week, David signed the highly rated Sam Byram from Leeds amid fierce competition. And I am sure he will demonstrate that nous again this summer, with plans to spend £20m plus on a proven forward.”
West Ham’s transfer dealings in the summer were of great success, with the likes of Manuel Lanzini, Dimitri Payet and Angelo Ogbonna joining the club and making a big difference.
Under the guidance of new boss Slaven Bilic, the Hammers have been transformed from a bottom half club to a top six challenger and things are only going to get better for the East London side.
The move to the Olympic Stadium next season will bring in more revenue streams, attract a better class of player and provide a playing environment to match the very best clubs in Europe.
And to kick off their so-called new era Sullivan plans to add a proven £20 million plus forward, a signing which could later prompt a push for a top four spot and ensuing Champions League football.
While West Ham fans would be wise not to get too carried away at present, the future of the club is most certainly in good hands and a return to former glory days is very much a realistic proposition.
