The 26-year-old defender continues to impress at White Hart Lane.
Even Palace boss Alan Pardew had a lot to say about the 19-year-old's wonder goal at Selhurst Park...
But another man was doing just as much at the heart of Tottenham's defence. Indeed, Toby Alderweireld enjoyed yet another good day at the office against Palace and his contribution didn't go unnoticed by fans on Twitter.
The 26-year-old was once again solid defensively but also in the air from set-pieces, as well as with his excellent passing. Fatigue caught up with him a couple of weeks ago... no longer.
Spurs fans are right to get excited about Alli, Harry Kane and co, then, but the effectiveness of Alderweireld at the back shouldn't be lost on any of Tottenham's supporters.
Signing of the season? Defender of the season? Throw the accolades out and the Belgian may well be a deserved winner of all of them. Here's how fans reacted on Twitter to his display against Crystal Palace!
Kevin Wimmer & Toby Alderweireld are yet to concede a goal between them in the PL. Goes to show importance of depth in defence. #THFC— Ricky Sacks (@RickSpur) January 23, 2016
Without a doubt Toby Alderweireld will always be the first CB on the team sheet for me. He is monster in defence! #COYS— Zeus #COYS (@superspurs34) January 23, 2016
