The British editorial claims Blackburn have placed a price tag on the striker in excess of £10 million but that hasn’t put Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins off from making a move.
A new goal scorer is very much needed at the Liberty Stadium this month, and the man earmarked for the job is Blackburn’s impressive goal scorer Rhodes.
The 25-year-old boasts an incredible record in the football league, having found the net on a regular basis for Huddersfield Town before moving to Blackburn where he has 82 goals in 158 league games.
Rhodes has netted more than 20 league goals in his last three consecutive campaigns, and thus far he has nine in 24 Championship matches despite Rovers struggling in mid-table.
The Mirror report that both Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are also keen on his services, yet his eight-figure price tag makes a move to a fellow second-tier side almost impossible.
Swansea will be gambling on Rhodes being able to step up and making a difference in the top-flight, yet considering his age and natural ability it’s certainly a risk worth taking.
