Rangers-linked Toumani Diagouraga is set to join Leeds United from Brentford.

Toumani Diagouraga has announced on social networking site Twitter that he is leaving Brentford for Championship rivals Leeds United.

The Sun reported earlier this month of Rangers’ interest in Diagouraga, but Leeds head coach Steve Evans revealed on Friday that he is moving to Elland Road, telling STV: “He’s signed this morning.”

The 28-year-old is one of the better midfielders in the Championship and has been in good form so far this season.

In 27 league games this campaign, the Frenchman has created 14 chances, has a pass accuracy of 86%, and has won 15 headers, 10 dribbles and 28 tackles.

Brentford are 11th in the Championship table at the moment with 36 points from 27 matches. The Bees are nine points behind Sheffield Wednesday, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.

Meanwhile, Leeds currently find themselves 17th in the Championship table with 32 points from 27 games, just eight points above the relegation zone.

The West Yorkshire outfit will take on Bristol City at Elland Road in the league on Saturday afternoon, while Brentford will face Preston North End away from home at Deepdale.
