Tottenham Hotspur star Mousa Dembele admits he has goal target for the season, but coy on amount

The Belgian is currently on four goals, a seasons best for Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur's recent good form has been largely down to the much improved performances of Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele.

The former Fulham man has been an inconsistent and peripheral figure at times at White Hart Lane but has recently been on top form.

Dembele scored in the 4-1 win against Sunderland at the weekend and his form has certainly come in for plenty of praise this season.

He has been speaking to the official Tottenham Hotspur website about his performances so far this season and his goalscoring antics - revealing he has set himself a goal tally target for the season, but would not say how many goals he aimed to net:

"I am happy.

"Like I said it is easier to play in a team in good form. Playing well, we are solid and all fit as well so it is nice for everyone I think and for my form as well I am happy with that.

"Yes exactly I have (a goals target) but I won't say it. No!"

Dembele has scored four goals so far this term, three of which came in consecutive games in October and November.

So far his best tally in a season for Spurs has been two so he has already beaten that tally but if he could push on and manage to hit the magic ten for the club this term, it could be the difference between silverware and another year of fruitless progression.
