This season has been positive so far for Watford. The Hornets have shown some excellent form with strikers Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney looking in fantastic form since the club's promotion to the Premier League as Championship runner-ups.
However their form has gone downhill of late.
The Hornets lost last time out against Swansea City, meaning they are without a win in the Premier League in their last five outings - since the impressive 3-0 triumph against Liverpool jut before Christmas.
That has seen them slip down the Premier League table to 12th position ahead of their tie with relegation fighters Newcastle United.
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes that the club need to be careful in the coming weeks to make sure they start picking up the right results - as currently they look like potential relegation candidates.
He wrote for Sky Sports in his prediction column:
"If they lose this game they are right back in the relegation mix, I've seen teams in higher positions than them go down.
"People are wising up to playing against Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo now, and I fancy Newcastle to nick a win.
"Steve McClaren is turning a corner and he's bought well. They are a strong team, they have quality and now they are starting to believe in themselves."
Watford are currently on 29 points after 22 games, with Newcastle in the final relegation spot just eight points behind them in the league.
If Newcastle can beat Watford this weekend then that gap will narrow to just five points and Watford might indeed need to get their act together - or Merson might be right.
