Sheffield Wednesday supporters are delighted with the signing of Gary Hooper from Norwich City.
Hooper has signed a three and a half year deal with Wednesday, after having his loan switch made permanent.
The former Celtic man was originally expected to return to Carrow Road this month, but his form was so impressive that Carlos Carvalhal made the striker one of his major targets in January.
Although it took a while to agree a price for the 27-year-old, Wednesday have now secured their man - much to the delight of the club’s supporters.
Hooper has improved Wednesday attacking ranks since arriving at the club back in October.
The clinical finisher made a slow start with the Owls, but he now has scored six goals in as many matches and looks to be thriving under Carlos Carvalhal’s stewardship.
Hooper is Wednesday’s second permanent addition of the January transfer window, while the Championship promotion hopefuls have also brought in Joe Bennett on loan from Aston Villa.
Here is the best reaction from Wednesday fans to Hooper’s switch on social media site Twitter.
Hooper's fit & now scoring. Not signing him would've been a waste, would've brought in another unfit ST to go thru same process again #swfc— Lee Winslow (@winslow91) January 22, 2016
Delighted to hear of Hooper's signing, exciting times at S6 when we can attract players of his quality. Who needs Jordan Rhodes? #swfc— Chris Coates (@chriscoates95) January 22, 2016
Forestieri and hooper for half the asking price of Rhodes.. Brilliant business. #swfc— James Steel™ (@jimimanovsteel) January 22, 2016
